As the 2023/24 season hangs in the balance, the question on everyone’s mind is: which team will seize the opportunity to break away from their opponen? With both teams tied at three points apiece before kick off, the stakes are high and the tension is palpable. It’s a battle for the ages, and only one team can emerge victorious.

Last Game

Ashford Green and Ashford Orange faced off in a league match at Ashford School in a thrilling game. The Oranges emerged as winners with a 9-7 scoreline, thanks to Stu’s five goals, two from James S, and one each from Sim and Bill. On the other side, Shane and Mike G scored hat tricks, and Steve B added one. The game saw rough challenges that left some players feeling aggrieved, and the Greens tried to mount a comeback but were undone by a decisive counterattack from the Oranges, who secured the win. It was an exciting match with goals, drama, and plenty of action.

Result

It was a battle of epic proportions at Ashford School as Ashford Green and Ashford Orange clashed in a closely contested match. The Greens started off with a man advantage and The Oranges did well to keep the score at 0-0 for a good 10 minutes. Once The Greens broke the deadlock they were 3-0 up before The Oranges could react. But just when things looked bleak for the Oranges, Simon, in a Judas move, switched sides to join the Oranges. The teams went into the break as the Greens led 5-3.

The Oranges tried to rally in the second half, but the Greens’ defence, held firm. Shane, Bill, Dan V, Steve, and Sim tried their best to turn the game around for the Oranges, but it was not to be.

In the end, the Greens emerged victorious with a final score of 12-10. James was in inspired form with six goals, while Mike G was close behind with four. Liam chipped in with two, and all four of the Greens’ teammates – Jamie, James, Mike G, and Liam – bagged assists.

The Oranges, on the other hand, fought valiantly, with Shane leading the charge with four goals. Bill and Dan V added two each, while Steve and Sim chipped in with one apiece. All but Bill also bagged assists. Bill’s two goals were impressive, but his victory dance was a sight to behold. It was a cross between a penguin shuffle and a gorilla flailing its testicles. The crowd was left speechless.

As an interesting footnote, Jamie scored as many goals as the one who was unable to play, which is quite the feat. All in all, it was a thrilling match that will be remembered for a long time. GG, Jamie, and everyone else!
