Last Game

In a tightly contested match filled with action and a few humourous injury moments, the Oranges and Greens battled it out . James S and Mike G showcased their goal-scoring prowess with 16 goals each this season, while Shane trailed closely behind with 8 goals. The Oranges held a 5-2 halftime lead and ultimately secured a 10-6 victory despite a spirited second-half performance from the Greens. With amusing injury incidents aside, the match highlighted the talent and competitiveness of both teams.

Result

The match between the Oranges and Greens unfolded with all the excitement of a blockbuster. The underdog Greens, despite their David-like status, managed to give the mighty Oranges a run for their money. With a 4-3 lead at halftime, the Oranges were taken aback by the Greens’ stubborn resilience. Jamie B had a moment of brilliance, channeling his inner Dennis Bergkamp to score a goal that will surely be remembered for seasons to come.

The second half continued the intense battle, with both teams locked in a relentless fight. The Greens refused to back down, leveling the score at 6-6 late in the game. However, it was the Oranges who found their second wind,  securing a hard-fought 9-6 victory. Led by James S’s four goals, and supported by Shane B, Steve B, and Dan V, who all contributed with their own impressive strikes, the Oranges displayed their strength and determination. Jamie S, with his exceptional playmaking skills, proved to be the assist king, setting up four goals for his team.

Not to be outdone, the Greens showcased their own talents, with notable contributions from Mike G, Jamie B’s extraordinary goal, and goals from Michael M and Bill S. They even benefited from an own goal courtesy of Simon M, adding an unexpected twist to the match.

With this thrilling victory, the Oranges now sit comfortably at the top of the table, establishing themselves as the team to beat. The Greens, on the other hand, can hold their heads high, knowing they pushed their opponents to their limits.
