Ashford Orange will need to bounce back in their next game.

In an intense match at Ashford School, Ashford Green faced off against Ashford Orange in a league match. Both teams were hungry for the win, but it was the Oranges who emerged victorious in a high-scoring thriller.

The first few minutes of the game saw both teams feeling each other out, with defences on top. However, once the deadlock was broken, the goals started to flow thick and fast. Stu, in his second appearance for the Oranges, was in inspired form, scoring a magnificent five goals, while James S chipped in with two, Sim and Bill both got one each for the Oranges.

Ashford Green were not to be outdone, and they made the most of their chances with Shane and Mike G both scoring hat tricks and Steve B adding one to his tally.

As the game wore on and tensions rose, there were a few rough challenges that left some players on both teams feeling aggrieved. There were a couple of occasions where had there been a referee, he would have had to step in to calm things down and dish out some stern words to the offending players.

The Oranges went into the break with a 5-3 lead, but the Greens were not about to give up without a fight. They came out in the second half with a renewed sense of purpose, and they managed to pull the score back to 8-7 with some fine attacking play.

However, just as it looked like the Greens might complete a remarkable comeback, the Oranges struck on the counterattack, with Bill scoring the decisive goal to make it 9-7 and secure the win for his team.

Overall, it was a pulsating match that had everything – goals, drama, and plenty of action. Both teams played their hearts out, and it was a shame that there was no crowd to witness it. But in the end, it was the Oranges who came out on top.
