Defending champions Ashford Green are determined to hold onto their title, but they will face a fierce challenge from Team Orange, who are eager to seek revenge for their previous title defeat. Both teams cautiously tested each other at the start of the game, but once Ashford Green found their rhythm, they never looked back. Their relentless attacking play saw them take a commanding 5-1 lead by halftime, with Mike G leading the charge and scoring several crucial goals.

The second half saw Ashford Orange try to mount a comeback, but they were repeatedly denied by the woodwork and some exceptional saves by Ashford Green’s goalkeeper, Simon M. Despite James S scoring two goals for the Oranges and a bizarre own goal from Steve B, it was not enough to turn the tide, with Steve B himself contributing two goals and three assists to the Greens’ impressive performance. The final scoreline of 10-3 reflected Ashford Green’s dominant display, with Mike G netting five goals, Steve B and Liam D each scoring two, and Simon M adding one to their tally.

With three points on the board, the defending champions Ashford Green are off to a strong start this season. It remains to be seen how Ashford Orange will respond next week, but they will undoubtedly be looking to bounce back from this heavy defeat.

There was also an interesting statistic to take note of, Liam D’s goal for Ashford Green was a header, making it the first headed goal since the league’s inception.
